Social Media Marketing

One of the newest components to Online Marketing is Social Media Marketing (SMM). It’s important to clarify that Social Media and Social Media Marketing are not synonymous. Social Media is any online content that is inherently social- or community-oriented in nature including: blogs, forums, message boards, reviews, content submission sites, user-generated content opportunities, social sharing such as: MySpace, image sharing (such as Flickr), video sharing (such as YouTube), Facebook, etc. Social Media Marketing, on the other hand, is the engagement of brands and marketers to advertise and promote their messaging within the social media realm.
